Why was Like New Only created?
We needed a solution to a problem most of us face - feeling overwhelmed by
an overflowing closet full of gorgeous South Asian outfits, jewelry and
accessories. Worn only a couple of times and in pristine condition, these items
eventually make their way into large plastic tubs, suitcases and second or third
closets in the home. Too exclusive and expensive to give away or donate, we
find ourselves at a loss on how to manage the ever growing clutter.
Thus came the idea to create LIKE NEW ONLY, an online platform for
selling and buying preloved South Asian fashion. It had to be easy,
efficient, safe and transparent.
As sellers, we benefit from clearing our closets and we also provide a beautiful
opportunity to those who love high quality fashion but may not be able to
access it. Who wouldn’t love the chance to purchase hardly worn, like new
pieces for less than the original price tag? The exclusive pieces can then be
re listed again and again, further extending the life and enjoyment of each unique item.
It’s heartwarming to know we in the Like New Only community are playing a
vital role to help our beautiful planet stay that way.
And we also feel great knowing partial proceeds from every transaction go
back to charity and in making a difference in the lives of others. Triple Win!

Follow your heart! It will always lead you to a path that lights up your soul. As a child and young adult I supressed an entrepreneurial spirit that lived within me to follow a path considered less risky. Finally, after 25+ years working as a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator and life coach, I have found the courage to embrace my creativity and follow through on an idea to solve a problem that I face and I know many of you do too: An overflowing closet full of gorgeous ‘like new’ outfits, barely worn a few times with no place to go. I am delighted to offer you a beautiful, safe place to sell your preloved South Asian clothing and accessories and make a positive difference in multiple ways. I hope you find inspiration from my story to connect to your true calling and see where it takes you. Consider me the poster child for “It’s never too late!”
Born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by nature which is where my heart is happiest. I live here with my husband San and our daughter Suhaana and son Suvaan. As a family we enjoy traveling and immersing ourselves in different cultures around the world.
And the name LIKE NEW ONLY? Visiting India as a young adult I quickly became mesmerized by aunties at parties using the word “only” at the end of nearly every sentence. “Where did she buy that beautiful sari? Oh, she picked it up from the market only”. I knew I had to add a playful nod to it in my business venture.
