This platform is intended to help clear your space and extend the life of high quality preloved clothing and accessories. Items should ideally be in “Like New” condition.
Confirm the item's condition
There are 6 conditions to choose from:
- New with tags : Just like in the store. The tags are still attached and/or it’s packed in the original packaging. Never worn and has no flaws.
- New without tags: Brand new, but without the the tags or original packaging. Never worn and has no flaws.
- Like New: Worn 1-2 times, but looks new. Has minimal flaws or imperfections.
- Very good: Worn a few times, but still looks great. It might have a few slight imperfections, which are clearly shown and mentioned in your listing.
- Good: Worn frequently and may have signs of wear, which are clearly shown and mentioned in your listing.
- Satisfactory: Worn a lot and has flaws, which are clearly shown and mentioned in your listing.
In addition to choosing an accurate condition, be sure to clearly describe any defects in your photos, description and comments, as necessary. There’s no point in hiding missing buttons, discolouration or tears—treat your shoppers the way you would want to be treated.
The answer to this should be easy if you think about how you would like to receive an item. Yes please! If you have dry cleaned the item, be sure to write this in the description.
It is absolutely free to list your preloved items on our platform. We want you to clear space in your closet and enjoy that zen feeling as soon as possible!
In order to maintain the integrity of our online platform and continue to offer our users the best experience, we charge a flat 10% fee and deduct this from the selling price. Partial proceeds from each sale also go to a charity. Win/win for everyone.
We want to keep the process as efficient as possible so everything listed will be FIRM price and no negotiating is allowed. You may decide to lower the price on your own if a sale is not happening as quickly as you would like.
Once we receive confirmation from the shopper that they have received the item and all is well, you will receive payment directly into your account within 7 days.

Shoppers will choose a section (Women, Men, Kids) when shopping for an item. Your item is more likely to find interested shoppers if it’s in the right section and category (Sarees, Suits, Lehengas etc). If you chose the wrong section, don't worry—you can edit any unsold item to get it in the right place. While you’re at it, check the listing’s category and subcategory. These vary by section and are critical for members who use filters to look for something specific.
It would be our pleasure! Photos provide the first impression to a shopper of your item. They attract shoppers to view your listing and help them decide whether or not they’re interested in it. Be sure your items are ironed or steamed. Wrinkled items will not make a favourable impression!
Here are our suggestions for taking beautiful, clear and bright photos (you may upload up to 9 per listing):
- First photo should be a full view of the entire item. Then take clear, bright photographs of all areas of the outfit. Include the front and back of each piece plus different angles. Take a minimum of 6 photos to make the listing more appealing and complete.
- Close-up of important features. Attach close-up photos of important features that aren’t visible in other photos. This may include the item’s brand or logo, care label, stitching and/or similar details. Take close ups of details such as embroidery or zipper.
- Show the item defects in the pics (if there are any). Describe any and all flaws. This prevents unpleasant surprises when the shopper opens the parcel and helps maintain the integrity of our platform.
- Use only your own photos. Do not use stock images, or photos you find online or watermarks. They’re copyrighted and may not depict the current condition of the item.
- Capture the true colours. Make sure that the colours on the pictures are true to reality. Lighting can change the way a colour looks in a photo. Avoid using any filters or saturation adjustments in your photos. Choose pictures taken in natural daylight, over those taken in the lamplight. Also, don’t use flash or filters.
After a shopper clicks the BUY NOW button for your item, you will receive an email from Like New Only indicating an order has been made. You need to accept the order. Once accepted, we will then send you a shipping label. Upon receipt of the email with shipping label, you will have 7 days to package the item, add the label and drop it off for shipping with Canada Post. (Once you ship the item and press the Item Shipped Button, the shopper cannot cancel the order). If you are not able to ship the item within 7 days, the sale will automatically be cancelled.
We recommend taking photos on the day you are planning to mail your item to avoid any claims by the shopper that the item was different than described in your ad.
We use Shippo (a shipping software platform) that will automatically provide the shopper with a list of available shipping services once you select your boxed item's dimensions and weight and provide your address.
Fold your item as neatly as possible and place into a shipping box of your choice. Then follow these steps to measure your box:
- Dimensions: Accurately measure the length, width, and height of your box. Ensure the correct unit of measurement (ie centimeters or inches)
- Weight: Accurately determine the weight of your item in the box. Be sure to select the correct unit of weight (ie grams, ounces, pounds or kilograms)
Finally, place the label provided by Like New Only onto your box and take it to whichever shipping service (ie Canada Post, UPS, FedEx etc) the shopper has selected. Don't forget to mark SHIPPED on your dashboard and that's it, you're all done!
Why not include a note to the shopper thanking them for their purchase and sharing a happy memory of your outfit and why it is preLOVED? It enhances the experience for the shopper because don’t we all love a good story behind something we’ve purchased?
